National Registry of Sudden Death in Athletes

If you are a State or a County Medical Examiner, a Deputy County Coroner, a medical professional, or a designated staff member, the Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation invites you to participate in the National Registry of Sudden Death in Athletes by submitting a case of sudden death in an athlete that participated in competitive sports. For the procedure and frequently asked questions, please click here. If you are aware of a case where an athlete has survived sudden cardiac death, please click here for the procedure and frequently asked questions about the submission of the information.

If you are not a Medical Examiner or a Deputy Coroner but aware of a case of sudden death of a athlete or a case where an athlete survived a near-sudden death event, we ask you to alert us. For the procedure and frequently asked questions, please click here.
